An Infant Observation
The Speaker will describe an infant observation over the course of a year, looking psychodynamically both at her experience of doing the observation, and at some of the mother’s and baby’s anxieties around such issues as presence and absence, connection and separation, distance and intimacy. She will consider how particular aspects of the case history fitted her observations. She will also think about how this piece of CPD, as well as being interesting and enjoyable in its own right, was also useful in her work as a psychodynamic counsellor with adult clients.
