Climate change: a psychoanalytic perspective – Rob Stuart

Climate change is the greatest threat to human civilisation the world has ever known.
So far, our response as a species has been woefully inadequate. Why? In this
forum, Rob Stuart will take a whirlwind tour of psychoanalytic theory ranging from
Freud to Klein to Steiner, Britton and Weintrobe. He will argue that now, more than
ever, we need to talk about how individual, group and socio-political decisions are all
powerfully affected by the unconscious.
Rob Stuart is a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and
Psychotherapy and the British Psychoanalytic Council. He spent five years as an
Honorary Psychotherapist in an NHS setting in Westminster and has run a
successful private practice in Waltham Forest since 2014. His interests include
philosophy, politics, science and nature.
