Writing for the journal Psychodynamic Practice

Psychodynamic Practice is an international professional journal published by Routledge and was created by the first Executive Committee of the BCA in 1994. The journal publishes four issues each year and is available in print and online. The journal publishes psychodynamic articles on clinical topics related to individual, group and organisational work, as well as topics related to the arts, and social and political issues. The journal welcomes submissions for articles of usually about 5,000 words which are sent for peer review, following which the Submissions editor liaises with the authors about the peer reviewers’ comments and any changes or amendments that may be recommended before publication. More informal articles of shorter length of no more than 3,000 words are also welcome and are published in the Open Space section of the journal, for which authors receive advice and comment from the Open Space Editor. Book Reviews and longer Book Review Essays are also welcome and authors are able to liaise with the Book Reviews Editor. For further information see the journal website or contact Paul Terry who is the Consultant Editor and who offers mentoring face to face or online for new writers interested in preparing a submission for publication.

If you would like to submit an article you can contact Ann Heyno the Commissioning Editor.
